My granddaughter, Shelby Elizabeth, was stillborn on Jan. 28, 2013, our lives have been forever changed. I had made a blanket for her and for months after her death her Mom slept with it. My hope is that my blankets may give some other parents just a little comfort when they're feeling brokenhearted. And may they know that there are people that care.

Comments: Hello I lost my 2 month old daughter 30 yrs ago. Crib death. I miss her every day. Everyone back then told me "life goes on" There was no funeral or closure. To receive a blanket from a group like yours would of definitely helped. Anyway- I crochet and started doing caps and booties with cotton yarn to donate to maybe St Judes Hospital . I read about your group and I wold love to be a part of it and crochet baby blankets for it. Yes, I know the heartbreaking feel that never totally heals. To be able to help another parent who is going through this would give me great satisfaction. I have yarn to donate also. Can.u please let me know what type of yarn you could use? Also is there any specific pattern.for blanket you could maybe send me. Also anything else I need to know (like what kind of yarn is acceptable for me to use?) Thanks Donna Short

We lost a baby boy named C.J. on November 4, 2006. A beautiful 8 pound 9 ounces born into heaven on his due date. I needed a c-section and one was not performed. The loss is a forever thing. As I learn to crochet--each stitch will be in memory of the most perfect little baby boy that I miss so much each day.

It was heartbreaking as I visited them in the hospital but it was so heartwarming to see that this sweet little angle was wrapped in a beautiful blanket, handmade by some loving person not even known to the couple. This got me interested in trying to get this started in our church. Bless you for this wonderful charity.

She knew that her daughter was not going to live long half way through her pregnancy. Kaiden lived 8 hours after she was born. She wore a beautiful hat and blanket that was buried with her. To this day, even though my niece has two children now, she still feels the loss and has kept many things to remind her of littled Kaiden. I look forward to sending you some blankets. By the way, do you send these blankets all over the country or just in your area?

Comments: I'm a member of Hiltons United Methodist Church Prayer Shawl Ministry. we make things and give to the hospitals or send away on missions and if anyone needs something we provide. i dont know what it is like to lose a child, but i think this is wonderful what you do. im sorry for your loss.i love making blankets. i am 35 yrs. old never thought that i would crochet, my mom, mamaw and grandma always did and i never had any interest. i started knitting and didnt catch on to it and it made me mad, so i just quit. then one day something told me that i was going to learn how to do this and now was the time. so i went back to the group and they taught me how to knit 1st. then i didnt like it cause i wasnt accomplishing anything, so i told them i wanted to learn how to crochet, in 2 hours time they had taught me sc,dc and hdc. i have been doing it every since. i have kept a book on the things that i have made and if i know where they go i keep up with that also. i will try to make some blankets and send them your way and mention it to my prayer shawl group and maybe able to get them to make some also. we are located in hiltons virginia a small community but i feel we make a great asset. i love finding groups that i can make things for and touch someones life that i dont even know. I feel that i cant always help people out money wise but i can give my time to make something they can cherish forever and realize there is people out there that care about them and dont even know them or there story. i feel that God is using me for this gift and i intend to do all i can with it. Thank you for sharing your story with whoever looks at this website. i wish you the best and May God Bless You and Your family for the wonderful thing you do!!!! Maybe we can keep in touch. Comments: Thank you for offering such a wonderful service. I lost my little boy K.J. in March 2011. Fortunately I live in an area where Share is strongly supported. In fact I recently began volunteering with this organization. It was brought to my attention this morning while making molds of a baby's hands and feet for a family that my local Share chapter is the only one known of nation wide that does hospital visits, blankets, photos, hand and foot molds, and clothing. We make sure that ever loss we visit is swaddled snuggly in a hand made blanket and a brand new hand make outfit. I cherish the keep sakes I have more than words could ever express. I feel so blessed to be able to volunteer with Share and make personally sure that those babies are as comfortable and warm as my little man is. Thank you again for doing what you do. I know that not every one gets the gifts I have been given and it makes me very happy to know that some will with your help.

Comments: I am a 38 y/o registered nurse, and I have been crocheting sinve I was 7. I usually just make projects for friends, family, or fun. When I saw the Charity spotlight I knew instantly I would donate an afghan. It made me think of the story my mom told me about her experience in the hospital after giving birth when she was 17 (1973). In those days, they didn't have private rooms for the mother's of stillborn babies like I think most hospitals today do. Her roommate had had a stillborn baby and my mother felt sad for her. The nurses would bring me in and my mother said she felt guilty because she had a "beautiful little girl" in her arms. She knew this poor woman had come into the hospital expecting to leave with her little girl too- and instead was going home with nothing but her grief. My mother let the woman hold me as a gesture of kindness and compassion, but a nurse came in and took me away from the woman and scolded my mom telling her she was not allowed to do that. I have always remembered this story and it has always broken my heart. I am happy to be able to offer what I do as a gift to the broken hearts of parents on the worst day of their lives. God Bless you and all who have endured this tremendous loss, Angela Hackney

Comments: This website touched my heart. I would like to hear from you about your needs. I would love to crochet blankets for you. I live in SC and there is not a Chapter here. My mother lost two babies before I was born. She died 3 years ago at 92. She always talked about those two babies. Now she is in Heaven with them. I cant wait to meet them someday. I never lost a child but I always felt bad that my mother felt this loss. Im 65 and I dont think that back then the parents were allowed to hold the baby. Thats sad in itself. She lost a little boy and a little girl and almost lost me. She and my dad had an RH Factor. They didnt know about that back then. I would like to help.

Comments: May God bless you for what you are doing. The granddaughter of a dear friend of mine recently buried her 19-day-old baby boy. Fortunately, someone took the most beautiful picture of the mommy kissing her baby, but I am thinking that a blanket from Forever Warm would have given them great consolation. I will let everyone I can know about your site.
