Comments and Encouragement: Jodi and Brad, We can't imagine the pain you are going through right now. I don't believe there could be any greater pain than losing a child. We hadn't seen Rhianna since she was a young girl, but it is obvious from all the comments that she was a wonderful young woman and inspired love and friendship wherever she went. We know that she is with God and is no longer suffering, but we will never understand why God took her so soon. We hope that your memories of her spirit and her love and kindness can give you comfort in the sad times ahead and can help to mend the hole that has been left in your heart. Our thoughts are with you.

I am so very sorry that this has happened to all of you. As we looked at our own children this morning at breakfast - this event has made us appreciate the time we have with them now. We hugged them, gave them kisses, smelled their hair, looked into their eyes and thanked God so very much for them - all with the Schillings loss in our minds. If there is anything that we can do, do not hesitate to ask. God's peace and love to all of you. Wietse, Jennifer, Evan, Alex and Kate.

Comments and Encouragement: Jodi and family - I am so sorry to hear this sad news. You have been in my thoughts frequently over the past few weeks. This was a tragedy. To borrow a few remarks that poet Nikki Giovanni's made last week at a memorial service for other grieving friends and family: "We are sad today, and we will be sad for quite a while. We are not moving on; we are embracing our mourning. We are strong enough to stand tall tearlessly. We are brave enough to bend to cry, and sad enough to know we must laugh again. We do not understand this tragedy. We know we did nothing to deserve it... No one deserves a tragedy...through all this sadness, we will prevail...we will prevail." My heart goes out to you. You will prevail.

Comments and Encouragement: Jodi and Family, I can't even imagine how difficult this time must be for each of you. Please know that you are in my thoughts, my prayers, and especially Rhianna, is in my heart. I wish I could take away the pain, it is so unfair for a family to experience a loss like this. I know, by reading all the wonderful messages that Rhianna was a very special young woman and that you and she are surrounded by love. Take care and all my love to you.

Comments and Encouragement: We are devastated by the greatest loss we have experienced. We have been most blessed by God in countless ways with wonderful children, loving spouses, and vibrant healthy grandchildren, and we are in shock over the space that is now missing. We are so thankful for Rhianna's life that was nurtured and cherished by Brad and Jodi. She was a loving and devoted daughter to you, and a loving and protective sister to Chelsea. When she was 9 years old, I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up, and she replied, "I only want to stay home and take care of my Mom and Dad and Chelsea." That desire remained at age 22 when she stated that if she married, she would want to live within 3 blocks of her parents! She loved you so deeply, and we know that is a reflection of the devotion, love, and protection that you have given to her. The four of you had a very special bond and commitment to one another, and your greatest joys and satisfaction came in doing things together. We are confident that the Lord gave Rhianna a unique gift of love for her family and friends that was unselfish, humble, and generous. We are so blessed by her brief life and her memory, and we are so saddened that she is not with us to fulfill her great potential to make our world a better place and to make our hearts glad by her presence. She will always be a reminder of the Lord's great love for our family, and we will miss her every day for the rest of our lives. We pray for the Holy Spirit to be our Comforter and give us Grace to heal the brokeness we all feel. We love you all so deeply, and yet we know that God's love is so much greater, and He will always be faithful to His promises to His children, and that she is with Him forever. We love you, and we pray that your pain and sorrow will heal. Mom and Dad Schilling, (Grandma and Grandpa S.)

Comments and Encouragement: Dear Brad,Jodi,Chelsea, Dick and Marlene, While scanning the Loveland Reporter Herald this evening I found the sad news of Rhianna´s passing. After experiencing the loss of a child I know that no words can truly comfort. But knowing that you are thought of in hearts and prayers does offer a sense of the surround of LOVE ....and that is a comfort. To those of us who have a few years of experience in this life on Earth, the passing of a most loved one is one of the most difficult tasks we must undertake. My heart aches for you and I can only offer upliftment and support for you in these days and years to follow. Dick and Marlene I am thinking of you especially at this time. Much Love to all of you Jeannie

Rhianna and Josh were friends. I remember seeing her name on a message on his memory quilt. And she left a rose and a stuffed animal at his cross(I still have them) and I know she was at his service at Boyd Lake. My heart just aches for you. I know the unspeakable pain you are in loosing a child so suddenly. My parayers and thoughts are with you. I also attend Rez. usually Saturady night. I pray some day we will meet. I would love the opportunity to just give you a hug. Only the greiving can truely understand greif. I pray the Lord will comfort and hold you near. I am fully convinced that Josh's job in Heaven is to greet kids when they get there. I know Josh was there to greet your precious girl and he's probably teaching her how to breakdance(:>) Blessings, Patti

I still remember when we all started working at HP back in '96, when she was just 12, and you saying you were "Mr. MOM" while Jodi was away and thinking "What a cool Dad". Comments and Encouragement: Jodi and family,When my mother passed away she left a copy of this poem for my brother and I. I hope it gives you comfort as well. Relatives and friends, My last breath did not say "good-bye," For my love for you is truly timeless And beyond the touch of death. I leave myself to your memory with love. I leave my thoughts, my laughter, my dreams to you whom I’ve treasured beyond gold and precious gems. I give you what no thief can steal, the memories of our times together: the tender love-filled moments, the success we have shared, the hard times that brought us closer together and the roads we have walked side by side. I also leave you a solemn promise that after I am home in the bosom of God I will still be present, whenever and wherever you call on me. My energy will be drawn to you by the magnet of our love. Whenever you are in need, call me; I will come to you with my arms full of wisdom and light: . to open your blocked paths, to untangle your knots and to be your avenue to God. All I take with me as I leave is your love and the millions of memories of all that we have shared. So I truly enter my new life as a millionaire. Thank you! Fear not, nor grieve too long at my departure, you whom I have loved so much, for my roots and yours are forever intertwined. So much so, that I feared crying in front of you if I were to speak words of sympathy or encouragement. "There but for the grace of God"...is one of my own babies in that bed," I kept thinking. I wanted to just give you a big hug, dad. I cannot begin to empathize with your pain and loss. Thank you so much for providing me some comfort by sharing a snapshot of the beautiful life that was your daughter's. You have my very best wishes--I know you will relish the memories of her good acts as well as her foibles. Her legacy to you is boundless--bathe yourself in it with happiness and laughter.

Comments and Encouragement: We are all so very sorry for your loss. Rhianna was a big part of our lives through middle school and parts of high school with the Mallorie and Rhianna hanging out between Bristol and Larkspur Courts. They were inseparable and although they eventually grew in different directions, Mallorie still cared deeply for Rhianna. The Humane Society is such an appropriate cause as we know how much Rhianna loved animals. Remember you are in our thoughts and we are only a stone's throw if you need anything at all. Bruce, Joanie, Rochelle & Mallorie Pettigrew

Comments and Encouragement: I am truly shocked and saddened on hearing of your pain of losing Rhianna. There are no words to express these feelings. Rhianna was so strong, I'm sure fought as hard as she could. I was thinking of her on Easter. When she was with me at daycare we blew the yolk out of eggs to hang and decorate. She had a hard time doing it, but it was fun. I'm sorry I didn't even know she was ill. It is unimaginable the pain you are feeling. I am so sorry. I will pray for peace in your hearts. You will all be in our prayers. Lanette, Don, Matt and Nicole

Comments and Encouragement: Being a teacher a Loveland High School, I had the honor and priviledge of giving Rhianna her diploma at graduation. What a special young woman! I got to know her through my daughter, Carrie and through her sister Chelsea, another incredible young lady. I was impressed with Rhianna's sense of humor and engaging smile and personality. Although I hadn't seen her for a while, Chelsea kept me posted. It was very obvious during Chelsea's visits with me at LHS that she is very proud of Rhianna. I am proud to have known her myself and am sad that she won't be able to enjoy the future that looked so promising and bright. Rest assured that many of the teachers that she had at LHS remembered her fondly and are deeply saddned by her passing. Let me know if there is anything I can do for your family. Our thought and prayers are with you.

Comments and Encouragement: Although most people can't really understand what you're going through, that is not true for me. I lost my 16 yr old son, Randy, to Leukemia last December. I can't imagine anything in life that could be more difficult. I must say that time does help and although angst and tears are still common (like right now), it is getting better. Our family did some things that I think really helped. We quickly collected video and photos and put together a nice "rememberance DVD" that we distibuted to our family and several others that were extra close to Randy. We purposely left off items from our son's illness. We also bought a large cedar chest and filled it with "Randy's favorite things". I've already re-opened it several times to browse. Please feel free to call or email (larry@ftcvideo.com) for advice, or whatever . . .
