He can be reached at 413-572-4877 -- He is a master welder and our shop is located at 26 Airport Drive, Westfield. We just finished working on a 1942 Victory Bicycle -- I'm using it for my Rosie impression.

Comments: My mother surprised me with a 1971 5 Speed Deluxe model 0150, in mocha. All the kids liked the bike and wanted to ride it. Especially the girls!!! I always kept it in pristine condition. Then it was stolen, 2 years later... I am surprised and displeased that the manufacturer never gave this bike a "proper" name. The styling of the 5-speed deluxe looks similar to the "Longboy", only shorter in length and slight frame modification by the front wheel. It was a great fun bike. If I could find someone who has one of these models and willing to sell, I would buy.)) Great website!

Comments: In the early 60s I received a Columbia bicycle for Christmas. It was a black and white cruiser with chrome fenders and rims. The headlight on the front fender looked like a rocket ship. It was definitely my childhood bike and I rode it everywhere. I put a speedometer on it once and cranked that bike downhill up to 45 mph! How stupid was that? Don't try this at home. Anyway, the stingray trend caught up with the bike and I bought a conversion kit at Sears with high handlebars and banana seat. I ditched the tank and rack on the back. It probably looked dumb but I thought it was cool for the time. I eventually gave it away, but it's the one bike I'll never forget.

Comments: I too lived less than a mile from The Pope on Lindbergh Blvd. Upon graduating from WHS in 1964 I worked at The Pope for 5 summers on what I was told was the first night shift from 5-2. It was my first factory job after having worked picking tobacco and at Friendly's. I was apprehensive but it was made easier by the foreman(( wished I could remember his name) and by the fact that most of us on the line were college bound. What fun! Radios were playing either rock and roll or the Red Sox and the comaraderie was terrific. I learned teamwork, attention to detail and pride in helping to produce a great American product. Those three years on the line and two in the repair rack prepared me for life. I relived those times with stories with my children and patients over the years with fondness. Thank you for the website. I'm sure others who worked at The Pope feel the same.

Comments: In the back of my aged mother in law's garage in Indianapolis, I found a Columbia Tandem bicycle and I would like to know if you can assist in identifying it. Please contact me with a return email addy and I'll be happy to send you a pic. It is white, with chrome fenders, its a single speed, and has diamond pleated black cushion seats. It looks to have been sitting for a couple of decades or more.... THX

Comments: I had a 1952 Columbia Bike serial #633586 purchased on 8/25/52. It was stolen and to this day of my 70th birthday I have never seen another one. I still have the original tag and guarantee tag and sales location. I have old black & white photos of me and my bike. It had CHROME fenders which all of the old 1952 I find on the internet do not have. It wa surchased on 8/25/52 in Cleveland,Ohio at the Gordon Cycle &supply Co. I have the original guarantee paper and replacement guarantee paper and sales tag. I would love to find another bike like this to purchase now.

Comments: I recently came across a Columbia Speedliner at a yard sale and bought it out of curiosity. I have done some minimal research and would like to find out if this bike should be restored or left in its existing condition. New to the world of old bikes and would like some info. The serial number is A-70159. The bike is complete and the fenders are totally straight with NO dents. Any info would help.

Comments: My grandfather sold Columbia bikes in simsbury Ct thru their end and I just aquired a '67, '68 or '69 tandem but I am unable to locate serial numbers. Your website with info & images has helped me narrow to the range years I listed. Thank you for providing such wonderful info but more importantly the rich history of an American iconic and groundbreaking bicycle company I grew up with...riding, repairing & selling.

Comments: My opinion on your site, excellent informative, and an interesting historical resource to bicycle collectors everywhere. I have 2 26" his and hers Columbia America First, Bicentennial Editions. I would guess circa 1976, but am not certain. They have white frames, blue fenders, blue seats, and blue hand grip. Both have head lamps and mirrors and are 3 speeds. I'm unable to find any serial numbers on them, and years of searching the web has never turned up a match. I'd like to confirm the year and production information. Please email me if you'd like to see pictures of them.
